Schmersal RFID Non-Contact Safety Switch, 91mm Length, 52mm Width - RSS 16 Series - RSS16-D-R-ST8H

This safety switch from Schmersal prevents injury to personnel by turning off a machine with a faulty guard system. Its coded actuator uses RFID (radio frequency identification) technology to prevent tampering for a high level of security. You can also connect it to multiple sensors in series for simple monitoring of their status. The unit's glass fibre-reinforced thermoplastic body has excellent resistance to impact and heat, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. For versatility, it can be mounted in a front-facing position on a Plexiglass door, at ground level on a doorstop using the magnetic latch or laterally on a sliding door.

Features & Benefits

• Three LED signals for quick status diagnosis
• Broad operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C for use in demanding environments
• Surge voltage capacity of 0.8kV to withstand current overload
• Magnetic latching force of 40N (newtons) for a strong hold

Applications

• Factories
• Hospitals
• Military technology

How does RFID technology work?

This RFID switch transmits radio signals to the receiver to detect the state of the door and activate the switch if it's open. As it requires no physical contact, this type of technology prevents mechanical wear and enhances the service life of the switch.
