The device functions by sensing whether a coded magnetic actuator is in range. For clarity, it has an LED indicator that turns on when a guard door is open and turns off when it's closed. Actuator coding stops the switch from being bypassed by a standard magnet, so is an effective security measure to prevent tampering. A matching actuator (198-7863) is available separately.
