Schmersal Magnetic Safety Switch, 24V DC, M8 - BNS260 Series - BNS 260-02/01ZG-ST-L

This magnetically-operated safety switch from Schmersal is an effective way to maintain a safe workplace. It senses the position of a magnetic actuator and then breaks two electrical connections. The actuator has a switching distance of ON at 5mm and OFF at 15mm. Its coded actuator design is tamper-resistant and prevents bypassing with a simple magnet or improperly coded magnetic field. The enclosure is made of rugged thermoplastic, which is self-extinguishing in the event of a fire. You'll find switches like this one commonly used in machine guards.

Features and Benefits

• IP67 (ingress protection) rating means it's dust-tight and water-resistant
• Maximum operating voltage of 24V DC so suitable for a wide range of switching applications
• Standard M8 connector for fast and secure connection

Application Information

• Food processing equipment
• Chemical processing equipment
• Woodworking machinery
• Packaging machinery

What types of non-contact safety switches are there?

Non-contact safety switches can be activated by various methods such as a magnet, a transponder or an inductor. They have different types of terminal connections, as well as different distances at which the switch will be operated. This determines how sensitive the switch is and how quickly it will activate.
