Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440N-G02093 Ferrogard Non-Contact Safety Switch

Optimise your safety system with the 440N-G02093 Ferrogard magnetic non-contact safety interlock switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster. This magnetically actuated safety switch provides high tolerance to guard door misalignment along with the dependability of contact-free switches. It is perfectly suited for use with hinged, sliding, and lift-off guards and offers superior security and stability.

The 440N-G02093 Ferrogard magnetic safety switch has 1NC safety contact, 1NO auxiliary contact, and 250V AC, 2 A max switching capability. The operating distance is 12mm (make), 23mm (break). It has rectangular FRS 2 housing and features a 4-Pin micro quick disconnect connection. The enclosure for this safety switch is made of durable moulded ABS plastic in red to ensure easy visibility of the unit. It is also dust-proof and water-resistant with an ingress protection rating of IP67 (NEMA 6P). Unlike some magnetic switches, the Ferrogard units have protected safety contacts to ensure that they will not fail to danger, offering greater reliability.

How it works: The magnetic actuator is removed from the switch when the safety barrier is released. This opens the NC safety contact which then isolates power to the machine. This means that the machinery cannot run while the guard is open and helps to prevent risk of injury to personnel.

Features and Benefits:

• High tolerance to door misalignment due to large sensing field
• Ideal for washdown environments due to IP67 rating
• Non-contact actuation, offering long service life due to less wear-and-tear
• High switching current
• Internal non-resettable overload protection on the safety contact

Rockwell Automation is a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, and brings smart manufacturing to life. With a long legacy of creating Allen-Bradley® integrated control and information solutions, we help make you as productive as possible. Our portfolio of sensing, safety and motor control products can support your move towards smart machine applications. Allen-Bradley® IO-Link sensors are data-enabled and communicate with all field buses, providing diagnostic and health information about the device before a machine stops, and enabling quick production changeovers through fast parameter downloads from PLCs into the device. This reduces machine downtime and increases manufacturing OEE. For safety components, products with built-in diagnostics simplify the set-up of the smart device, and reduce maintenance, leading to a more efficient, machine data-driven approach.

What are the advantages of non-contact safety switches?

Non-contact safety switches are highly reliable and durable. They take less wear and tear and are low-maintenance, as well as resistant to shocks and vibrations. They cannot be easily manipulated or tampered with and are ideal for use with machine guard doors to restrict access to unsafe areas. They are often used in industrial environments, such as in factory production lines.
