EMC2101 Fan Controller
The Microchip EMC2101 is a Fan Controller IC that integrates Temperature Monitoring and Fan Speed Control into one device.
The device offers the flexibility of Fan Speed Control via a PWM or Linear (DAC) output. Both methods utilise a user customisable fan speed profile contained within the integrated Fan Control Look-Up Table. The temperature monitors, one external and one internal, are also user programmable with adjustable interrupts.
The EMC2101 communicates via a SMBus 2.0 compliant interface. In addition to Host controller signals this interface can also be used to connect a SMBus compliant EEPROM for auto-programming the EMC2101 on power-up.
