STM32F407 series of microcontrollers are high-performance MCUs designed for medical, industrial and consumer applications. It is based on ARM Cortex-M4 and offers up to 168MHz. The STM32F407VGT6 is the onboard chip which comes in a 100-pin LQFP package.

What software does it use?
Alongside the STM32F407G-DISC1 hardware, you will require software to write your coding etc. This software includes:

- GCC-based IDEs (ARM, Atollic, TrueSTUDIO)

What else do I need?
You need a PC running Windows XP, Windows 7 or Window 8. You will also need a USB cable going from USB-A to mini-B.
