Altivar ATV320 Series

The Altivar Machine ATV320 variable speed drives are simple, yet enhanced machines. They have been designed for original equipment manufacturers and meet simple and advanced applications requirements for three phase synchronous and asynchronous motors, from 0.18 to 15 kW. This type of VFD is the perfect solution to help you improve you machines effectiveness across a variety of applications.

Features and Benefits

• Enhanced automation capabilities through open loop motor control being combined with simplicity for asynchronous and synchronous motors – this also applies at a low speed, dynamic accuracy for start/stop applications.
• Advanced connectivity with automation architectures such as EtherNet/IP - Modbus TCP, Profinet EtherCAT, Profibus, CANopen and DeviceNet.
• Featuring functions such as ATVLogic which bring application expertise and flexibility to the machines.
• The Altivar Machine ATV320 variable speed drives carry on their predecessors’ tradition of robustness and reliability.
• To maximise the machine operation time, especially as the production changes the safety diagnostics and operation, system integration and network configuration can be achieved in a timely manner.
• The ATV320 has been engineered cost effective, easy installation for a number of machine layouts and for the placement for inside in places such as cabinets and machine frames.
• Due to the robust, strong and reliable design these VFD’s and also having IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C3 coated printed circuit boards the variable frequency drives can extend the machine availability in harsh conditions.
• This series have different mounting options, depending on the machine (vertical, horizontal, with the option to offset the control module when the drive is mounted on its side, side-by-side)
• Comprehensive embedded safety accounts for the machine having an additional safety torque OFF, four functions of full safety monitoring to simplify machine certification and compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
• Easy-fit communication cards in cassette format.

Where would you normally find a Variable Frequency Drive?

• The ATV320 series can be used in simple or/and advanced machine requirements.
• This series can be used for mechanical and electrical instillations.
• Material handling – small conveyors
• Packaging – small labelling machines, small bagging machines
• Machinery that has machines fitted with fans - Air or smoke extraction, plastic film making machines, ovens and boilers.
• Simple consumer machines such as handling access barriers, rotating advertising hoardings.
• The health industry such as medical beds and running machines.
• They can also be found in the food and drink industry being used in machine such as mills, kneading machines and mixers.
• These types of Inverter Drives can also be a great solution for companies wanting to hoist goods or materials from one place to another

How to look after the ATV320 Series VFD

The Altivar 12 does not need any preventative maintenance, although we do advise that you perform a few regular checks to ensure optimum delivery.
• The condition and tightness of any of the connections.
• Make sure that the temperature around the unit remains at an acceptable level and that ventilation is effective. The average service life of the fans is an impressive ten years.
• Make sure that if any dust is apparent, it is removed.
• Keep a look out that the fans are always in proper operation and that there is no physical damage to the covers.

Schneider Electric Variable Speed Drive, DIN Rail Mounting, 0.1 to 599Hz Output Frequency - Altivar Series - ATV320U22N4C

Make this variable speed drive from Schneider Electric the middle man between a power supply and a three-phase motor to boost machine performance. An output frequency between 0.1 and 599Hz enables you to precisely drive motors over a wide range of speeds. With vector control, it's responsive to load changes and gives you torque at low speeds. Thanks to a front display and rotary dial, setting parameters is a doddle. An integrated fan is on hand to keep the drive cool. You can be sure the drive stops safely, as an STO feature limits power to your motor. Plug-and-play style installation, as well as compatibility with CANopen and Modbus communication protocols, makes setup simple.

Features & Benefits

• Coating on the circuit board protects it in harsh conditions
• Fault, error and run LEDs help you keep track of operations
• EMC filter stops noisy environments from interfering with control signals

Applications

• Packaging machines
• Materials handling
• HVAC systems
• Asynchronous and synchronous motors

What temperatures can this variable speed drive operate in?

This variable speed drive is a smart choice for harsh settings as it works safely in temperatures between -10°C and +50°C without derating.
