These receptacle connectors feature a black silver shell plating, excellent EMC protection and are rated to IP68 when mated and have no locking facility like that found on the Terrapin Latch series of connectors. Originally designed for soldier mounted connector applications such as radios and GPS units, these Terrapin connectors are also suitable for LAN Switches, USB 2.0 and unmanned ground sensors amongst others.
