It's commonly used as a standard socket for light-emitting diodes (LEDs), switches and connections in other small devices.
• Glass-reinforced thermoplastic body and protective cover for insulation and impact resistance• Pitch of 2mm to accommodate a variety of wire sizes• Compact dimensions to fit into small circuit designs• Broad operating temperature range of between -20°C and +85°C for use in demanding conditions• Gold-over-nickel contact plating for improved corrosion resistance
Applications
• Automation systems• Semi-automatic assembly equipment• Packaging and processing plants
How does an IDC socket work?
With an IDC socket, you don't need to strip a cable. The socket forces its way through the insulated jacket of the cable to provide a link between the conductor and the connector contact.
