Alpha Wire 600 V, mPPE Hook Up Wire, EcoWire Series

EcoWire from Alpha Wire is the latest innovation in hook-up wire. EcoWire combines increased performance with a minimal environmental impact due to it being fully recyclable.
This hook up wire is manufactured from a modified polyphenylene ether (mPPE) thermoplastic. EcoWire can be easily recycled since it does not contain hazardous materials. The enhanced dielectric properties of this hook up wire make it possible to have a reduced wall thickness while still maintaining the same electrical properties as PVC.

Features and Benefits

• Fully recyclable
• Up to 45% smaller diameter than PVC
• Up to 40% lighter than other insulation materials
• Excellent dielectric strength
• Low specific gravity
• Flame retardant to UL VW-1 rating
• EcoWire Plus range available with excellent resistance to hazardous oils and chemicals
• Stranded or solid tinned copper conductors
• Available in lengths of 100 ft (30.5 m) and 1000 ft (305 m)

What is UL/CSA standard?

The UL standard (Underwriters Laboratories) is a recognised certificate that requires the rigorous testing of product samples to determine whether the product meets specific, defined requirements. These requirements are often based on UL's published and nationally recognised Standards for Safety.

CSA approval (Canadian Standards Association) provides product testing and certification for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and various other products. This approval is recognised in Canada, the U.S and various countries around the world. It includes a stringent series of flame tests on wires and cables.

Product Application Information

Hook up wire is frequently used in control panels, automotive, meters, ovens, internal wiring of computers, electronic equipment, business machines and appliances.

Alpha Wire’s FIT heat-shrink tubing and FIT wire management system can both be used with the Alpha Wire hook up wire range and are an ideal for solving many challenges in electrical and electronic wiring.

Standards

UL AWM 11028 VW-1, CSA AWM I A/B FT1, RoHS/RoHS2 Compliant, IEC 60332-2 Flame Behavior, REACH Compliant, CE Compliant

Belden Alpha Wire Hook-Up Wire, 65 Strands, 12 AWG - EcoWire Series - 6718

This hook-up wire from Belden's Alpha Wire range offers high performance while minimising your environmental impact. A modified polyphenylene ether (mPPE) insulator is both easy to recycle and highly efficient, thanks to its enhanced dielectric properties. Compared to PVC alternatives, this cable is up to 45% thinner without increased resistance. It's ideal for environmentally conscious businesses that don't want to compromise signal speed or strength.

Features & Benefits

• Flame retardant mPPE insulator won't burn in the event of fire
• 65 internal strands and unshielded construction ensure flexibility
• 6718 wires use tinned copper conductors for excellent conductivity

Applications

• Kitchen appliances
• Electrical wiring in bathrooms
• Outdoor circuits

What’s best for household wiring: 12AWG or 14AWG?

12AWG wires like this one can support heavier electrical loads, while 14AWG wires are thinner and more flexible. A 14AWG circuit protected by a 15A circuit breaker is enough for most household appliances. Bathrooms and kitchens must have 12AWG circuits since they contain higher-load appliances.
