Allen Bradley GuardmasterSprite Safety Hinge Switch, 2NC, M16 - 440H-S34010

This Sprite safety hinge switch from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley Guardmaster range isolates power when a connected door is opened. It does double duty, protecting machines from damage and keeping staff safe. It comes in a miniature case body of 75 (height) x 25mm (width), the smallest size for an interlock switch. This makes it ideal for use with small machines like printers, copiers and domestic appliances. The cam is adjustable, to prevent over-sensitive tripping.

Features and Benefits

• Two NC (normally closed) contacts ensure a default safe setting
• Contacts are IP67 (ingress protection) sealed to prevent exposure to water and dust
• Long (50mm) shaft keeps the fitting secure
• Head facilities are rotatable, allowing for four different shaft positions
• Can be used with Guardlink, which reduces the connection time of the safety system

Standards and Certifications

• EN 1088 (European Norm)
• IEC 947-5-1 (International Electrotechnical Commission)

How do I maintain this switch?

Routinely check the switching circuit is operating and hasn't been tampered with. You can apply tamper-evident varnish to the fixings to make this easier to spot. Inspect the conduit entry and shaft for loss of sealing. Twice a year you should isolate power and inspect the terminals for tightness. Clean out any dirt before reinstating the unit.

Note

This safety device can be used with Guardlink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster.
Guardlink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the safety system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. For more details, please go to the Guardlink brochure.
