RS PRO 13 A, Fused Spur
The RS PRO 13-amp fused spur can automatically switch off live current to protect against electrical shocks and fires. It's suitable to use as an alternative to a conventional plug socket on high-powered electrical items, such as ovens.
Often referred to as a fused connection unit, this metal-clad component has passive circuitry. This means that, in the event of it tripping, power will be immediately restored without you having to reset the device manually. It has a trip speed of 30 ms and trip current of 30 mA, with two poles and an earth terminal.
The fused spur conforms to British Standards for electrical socket outlets and can be used with thermostats and boilers, or even heaters in bathrooms. It's designed to be directly wired to the electrical cable of an appliance. For this reason, RS PRO recommends it's only installed or removed by a qualified electrician.
