SKF Flex Couplings

SKF Flex Couplings have been designed to accommodate misalignment, shock loads and dampen vibration levels. They are easy to install and are virtually maintenance-free. They are available with a machined-to-size bore or a tapered bore, and couplings that have a tapered bore are either Face (F) mounted or Hub (H) mounted. The Reversible (R) design is more versatile and can either be hub or face mounted but this is dependent on the application. In addition to this, a standard sized spacer flange can be used to accommodate applications where it is advantageous to move a shaft axially without disturbing the machines. The flanges are coated in phosphate for improved resistance to corrosion. SKF Flex tyres are available in natural rubber and are an excellent choice for applications with temperatures ranging from -50 to +50 °C. Chloroprene rubber tyres can accommodate temperatures from -15 to +70 °C and should be used where fire-resistance and anti-static (F.R.A.S.) properties are required. They are excellent in applications where exposure to greases and oils are likely.
