Product Details
RS PRO Multi Mode Fibre Optic Cable Unterminated 4 Core 0.0625 mm 500 m
Looking for a high-quality, multi-mode optical cable to use in Local Area Network applications? This fibre-optic cable from RS PRO contains four 250μ fibres, which are colour-marked for easy identification.
The fibres are housed within a polyester tube filled with gel to prevent water from entering and damaging the fibres. This is surrounded by Kevlar® yarn for additional protection and strength. The cable is also fitted with a low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) sheath that minimises the amount of smoke and toxic gases emitted in the event of a fire, making it easier for people to evacuate the area. This makes the cable especially suitable for poorly ventilated areas, such as tunnels or high-rise buildings.
The cable meets Euroclass Eca standards for basic fire protection, meaning it can be safely installed in buildings with fire requirements. Optical cables of this kind are commonly used to manipulate and transfer data at high speeds.
