Metcal Desoldering Tips / Desolder Cartridges.
DSC-de-solder tip cartridges are the standard de-soldering tip range for the Metcal CV,5200, CV-500, MX-500, MX-5200 and MX-5200 series de-soldering systems.
DSC-cartridges are available in 3 temperature ranges:
The temperature/series is designated by the by the first digit in the numerical part of the part number:
Metcal recommends the 700-series for the majority of applications.
The 800-series for high temperature and thermally demanding applications.
Can be used with leaded and lead-free solder. The Metcal “SmartHeat®-Technology“ will adjust delivered power during soldering to suit the application.
For solder removal on through-hole components on heavy load PCBs.
DSC-cartridges are available in 3 temperature ranges:
- 700-series nominally 390 ˚C.
- 800-series nominally 430 ˚C.
- 900-series nominally 470°C.
The temperature/series is designated by the by the first digit in the numerical part of the part number:
- 700-series will be STTC-1xx.
- 800-series will be STTC-8xx.
- 900- series will be STTC-9xx.
Metcal recommends the 700-series for the majority of applications.

- 700 = FR4/Fibre Glass, for most standard applications.
- 800 = Ceramic for high thermal demand applications.
- 900 = Ceramic for high thermal demand applications.
