RECOM DC-DC Converter, Linear Switching Regulator, 30mVp-p Ripple and Noise - R420 Series - R420-1.8/PL

This DC-DC converter from RECOM is a type of linear switching regulator that converts electrical inputs to deliver a safe voltage and current to your connected components. It supports any input voltage between 10 and 36V DC and outputs a regulated supply of 5V DC. As an auxiliary power component, it works as a backup for a primary power source, so you can trust you'll have a consistent regulated supply of energy for your low-power applications. As the output voltage is adjustable between 1.8 and 5V DC, you can tweak the supplied load to suit the needs of your sensitive equipment.

Features & Benefits

• Operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C makes it suitable for harsh environments
• Output is protected against short circuits, so helps prevent damage to connected devices
• Low ripple and noise of 30mVp-p give you stable output voltages with fewer voltage spikes

Applications

• Indoor solar-powered circuits
• Energy harvesting

What's the benefit of a low input current?

This converter's low input current of less than 3.6mA makes it practical for use in energy-scavenging loop circuits. You can use it to power low-current devices such as microprocessors, data-loggers and digital modems without risking the quality of your analogue 4-20mA signals.
