Molex Female Crimp Contact, 24 to 18 AWG - STANDARD .062" series - 02-06-1103

This crimp contact from Molex makes an effective socket for PCBs (printed circuit boards). It provides a secure electrical connection with features that maximise performance. Tin-plated brass contacts offer the perfect combination of durability and conductivity. A passive friction lock secures the contact to the connector housing, while the crimp termination method creates a strong, airtight join that won't corrode. The contact is rated for currents up to 5V (volts) and fits wires from 24 to 18 AWG (American Wire Gauge).

Features & Benefits

• Maximum operating temperature of +105°C and minimum of -40°C allows for use in demanding applications
• Quick and easy to use as no soldering is needed
• Tin contact plating protects against corrosion and rust
• Contains low levels of halogen for reduced risk of toxic fumes in case of excessive heat or fire

Applications

• Consumer electronics
• Telecommunications and networking systems
• Automotive industry
• Industrial automation

What's the difference between a crimp connection and a soldered connection?

Soldering involves heating a fusible metal alloy until it melts over the connector wires. A crimp connection uses pressure to cold-weld the wires together. This creates a mechanically stronger, airtight bond for a more reliable connection.

Molex 1625 Series (0.062in./1.57mm)

A range of Molex Standard .062" products that are suitable for either Power or Signal applications. Housings of the Standard .062" system are polarized and locking is by passive (friction) lock between the plug and the socket via a projection moulded on to the socket. The Standard .062" system housings take male or female round crimp terminals which allows for orientation in any direction.
