Allen Bradley Contactor Relay, 10A, 3NO/1NC - 700-K31Z-DJ

Use this high-quality miniature relay from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range to shield your motors from the effects of phase loss and overheating. Its three normally open (NO) contacts and one normally closed (NC) contact allow it to be connected in series with the motor to divert power when continuous overload current occurs. Thanks to its current rating of 10A per contact, this unit is suitable for use in low-voltage applications. It includes a diode that shorts the heavy voltage spikes that occur when the power supply is disconnected, giving you extra safety from electrical hazards.

What is an overload relay?

• Suitable for DIN rail or panel mounting for flexible installation• IP2X (ingress protection) rating means it's finger-safe for enhanced operator protection• Forked contacts for reliable conductivity in low-energy signal transmission• Screw terminals achieve a secure connection that won't come loose

Standards and Certifications

• IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)• RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)• CE (Conformité Européenne)

How does the diode in this relay work?

The flywheel diode is inversely polarised to the relay, meaning that no current passes through it when the relay is active. When the relay is turned off, the inductive coil generates a high reverse voltage, which is absorbed by the diode so it doesn't damage the relay or the motor.
