SKF Stud Cam Follower, 16 mm ID - KR35-PPA

This stud cam follower from SKF works with a cam to guide the linear motion of components. Its axial sliding ring is made of polyamide (nylon) 66, which acts as a contact seal to retain lubrication in the bearing when it's operating in an axial direction. This reduces heat and friction and extends the unit's grease service life. When moving in a radial direction, the sliding ring forms a seal with the outer ring and protects against coarse contaminants.

What is polyamide 66?

Polyamide 66 is a type of nylon with high hardness and increased heat resistance. It's considered a high-performance plastic and is widely used in automotive and electronic applications.

What does a cylindrical cam follower do?

A cylindrical cam follower rides in a groove cut into the surface of a cylinder and acts mainly to convert rotational motion into linear motion parallel to the rotational axis of the cylinder.
