Schneider Electric uxiliary Contacts - TeSys LA1K Series
Specifically, the LA1K series of Auxiliary Contactor brings reliability to your circuit by acting as a secondary switching device working in conjunction with other primary devices such as contactors, relays or circuit breakers.
Features and Benefits
- TeSys K range of Auxiliary Contacts is one of the smallest of the contactors in the market place making it suitable for use in tight spaces. The size, however, does not compromise on performance, with the range delivering peak efficiency and seamless integration with other applications.
- Available in applications ranging from 2.2 up to 5.5 kW.
- Terminal connection types included screw-clamp, fasten connectors, spring terminal, pins for printed and circuit boards
- NO contact & NC contact, varying from model to model.
- Motor protection through the use of additional thermal relays such as the LR2K series.
- Standards - IEC 60947 - protect electrical power distribution up to 1000 volts a.c. and 1500 volts d.c, VDE 0660 - rated for switchgear for use in circuits up to 1000 volts a.c. and 1500 volts d.c, NF C 63, 110, BS 5424, UL, CSA, CE and CCC certificates
How do Auxiliary Contacts work?
Aux Contacts can be installed onto contactors either by front mounting, or side mounting. This is usually clear in the shape and size of the product, but please check the compatibility of your devices. Aux Contacts are really useful devices to aid in keeping an eye on the contactor.
You can, for example, hook up a low voltage LED directly to the Aux Contactor without having to worry about the overall voltage of the contactor it is linked to (as long the Aux Contactor is electrically isolated from the contactor) you could use the LED to monitor the device i.e. indicate if the motor is off/on.
Common Applications
- Noise sensitive areas
- Programmable controller outputs
- Other simple control systems
