Eaton Auxiliary Contacts For Use With The DILEM & DILEEM System

Eaton's range of DILEM & DILEEM contactors and auxiliary contacts are predominantly used in larger-scale operations, they are designed to provide a long mechanical and electrical life which in turn accomplishes reliability. Users will commonly find these contactors integrated within industrial buildings and factory installations, enabling automated processes of motors and resistive loads.

Eaton's auxiliary contacts offer several contact combinations and are front, side or top mountable depending on their design, no tools needed! Trip indication presents through a red short-circuit indicator on some components, allowing users to view a trip easily, other information is provided to the upstream programmable controller. Information provided includes "on/off" on the protective switch, "tripped" message for overload or short circuits, and "on/off" for the contact module.

Features and benefits:

• Front mount and side-mounted contacts available
• Wide operating temperature
• Identical sizes for AC and DC operated contactorsEasier engineering through identical construction sizes for AC- and DC-operated contactors
• Energy savings and higher packing density in control panel due to minimized heat dissipation
• Maximum cable capacity 2 x 2.5mm²

Applications:

This range of auxiliary contacts can be used across a multitude of applications, users will commonly find these contact blocks being used within industrial applications such as electric motor starters, control systems, control, power circuits and electrical signalling equipment.

How do Auxiliary Contacts work?

An Auxiliary Contact block, or aux contact, is an electromechanical device that is mounted typically to contactors. They are physically connected to the contactor, with simultaneous activation and deactivation applying to both the contact block and the contactor at the same time.

Auxiliary contacts can be installed onto contactors either by front mounting, or side mounting. This is usually clear in the shape and size of the product, but please check the compatibility of your devices. Aux Contacts are really useful devices to aid in keeping an eye on the contactor.

Eaton Auxiliary Contact, 2.5A DC, 4A AC - DILE Series - 010288 22DILE

Turn devices on and off with ease using this auxiliary contact from Eaton. This unit is a secondary switching module that connects directly with the main contact to pass data from the circuit to a logic controller. It has two normally open (NO) and two normally closed (NC) contacts, giving you freedom in the layout of your electrical circuit. Devices like this one are commonly used in large-scale operations within industrial installations, including pushbutton controllers in electric motor starters, control signalling equipment and relay logic circuits.

Features & Benefits

• Front mountable with screw terminals for simple and secure installation
• Wide operating temperature range of -25°C to +50°C for use in demanding environments
• Compact design minimises heat dissipation in your control panel and saves energy
• Rated IP20 (ingress protection) to indicate the unit is finger-safe

What are the power ratings of the auxiliary contact?

The contact has a voltage rating of 220V (volts) for DC (direct current) and 500V for AC (alternating current). The current rating for DC is 2.5A (amperes) and 4A for AC. These are the maximum levels before a circuit overload occurs.
