3M™ 785C Fibre Disc, Orange

3M™ 785C Fibre Disc contains a 3M high performance ceramic and aluminium oxide blend abrasive. This blend self sharpens and yields a high cut rate surpassing other conventional discs (Aluminium Oxide) in both performance and longevity. The abrasive is made on a fibre backing thats close-coated and resin bonded.

Outstanding Cutting Performance

The 785C disc contains an impressive abrasive blend that can stand up to most challenging applications. The blend self sharpens, allowing for a consistent cutting rate outlasting conventional discs.

The 3M™ 785C Fibre Disc is well-suited for blending, grinding and weld removals. It's important to reduce the grinding temperatures for processes involving heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel. The rigid fibre backing provides that support for weld removals and pressure applications.

Features and Benefits

The ceramic and aluminium oxide abrasive blend self-sharpens, yielding high cut rates and increased durability

Stiff fibre backing provides the durability needed for weld removal and other medium pressure applications such as deburring or rust removal

The grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures for processes involving heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium

Compatible with 3M™ disc pad face plates (sold separately)

Available in a variety of sizes to suit different applications

Typical Applications

These fibre discs are great for weld removals, grinding and blending large and small metal areas. The discs are best used with portable tools, to make it easier to access the working area. This could occur in industries such as farm and construction, automotive, ship and boat building, metal fabrication.
