Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Disc SC-DH, 115 mm
The Scotch-Brite™ disc is a surface conditioning disc that combines an evenly abrasive and offers a high cut rate for a consistent finish. The non-woven disc uses aluminium oxide mineral abrasive offering a continuous fast cutting action and consistency. The fibre construction conforms well to help preserve irregular or contoured surfaces. Suitable for a variety of general purpose metalworking applications from cleaning, deburring and finishing.
Unique Construction
The unique construction of the Scotch-Brite™ disc is made up of non-woven fibres and aluminium oxide abrasive making it tough and durable. Compared to traditional abrasives that quickly wear down when used, these discs have a high cut-rate, hardness, strength and low heat retention making aluminium oxide a popular choice.
Flexibility
The Scotch Brite™ surface conditioning disc allows for easy adaptation to a profiled surface. It has been designed to last longer than wire brushes and other abrasive discs. The abrasive standards are kept constant throughout its lifespan. This is because the disc doesn't get clogged up, extending the life of the product.
Features and Benefits
• Variety of abrasive grades and sizes offer an ideal starting point for cleaning, finishing, blending, and light deburring
• Open web material runs cool and resists loading for prolonged operation
• Conformable disc conditions surfaces without gouging, undercutting, or damaging the base material
• Suitable for metal, composite, plastics, and other materials
• Hook and loop attachment system for fast disc changes in multi-step finishing processes

Typical Applications
These fibre discs are great for working on wood and metals. Preparing the surface, grinding and deburring large and small metal areas. This could occur in industries such as farm and construction, automotive, ship and boat building, metal fabrication.
FAQ's
What are non-woven abrasives?
Non-Woven Abrasives have abrasive grains bonded to flexible nylon fibres, which provide a controlled consistent finish. The open web construction provides and maintains a consistent cutting rate.
What safety requirements should I observe?
When grinding metal or sanding, appropriate Personal protection equipment should be worn. Gloves, eye protection and even respiratory protection are essential PPE for general purpose grinding and polishing applications.
For safe operation of an angle grinder, be sure you have participated in appropriate training and are aware of all safety advice relevant to the material you are working on.

Is aluminium oxide more durable than silicon carbide?
Despite having a harder and sharper grain when compared with aluminium oxide, silicon carbide isn't as durable. It's more brittle, which increases the rate at which the material wears down. This means that aluminium oxide is the more long-lasting choice.
