Two hand controls ensure that both operators hands are clear of the machinery before it will operate. Ideal for presses, cutting & folding machines and other manually loaded machinery with the risk of crush injuries to hands.
Rope pull or grab wire switches allow a machine to be stopped in any emergency via a long, tensioned run of cable. Ideal for long machines or conveyor systems where multiple e-stop points would be impractical.
Another way to ensure the operator is in a safe position before the machine can run is via the use of an enabling switch which must be held lightly in a middle position to allow the machine to operate.
The Allen-Bradley Safedge™ protection system can be used in a variety of applications such as power operated doors and moving machinery beds. It uses a continuous line of touch sensing edging which when compressed can trigger a process to halt.
An alternative to the hand operated emergency stop, a safety related footswitch uses snap-action contacts to trigger an emergency stop.
Emergency stops are often exposed to ensure easy access by operators. This means in washdown or tough environments a full stainless steel bodied IP69K protected e-stop can be the perfect choice.
Where space is a premium the compact CEP series from ABB has just a 65x65mm enclosure footprint while offering a 40mm mushroom e-stop head.
