Low Dropout Regulator | LDO Low Dropout Regulator | LDO Regulator
A Low Dropout Voltage Regulator (LDO) is a type of linear voltage regulator that can regulate the output voltage even when the voltage drop between the input and output is very small often less than 0.2V. This feature differs from standard voltage regulators that need a significant voltage difference between the input and output to regulate properly. Low Dropout Regulators offer good stability and regulation of the output voltage and excellent transient response being able to respond quickly to changes in load conditions. LDO regulators provide a steady power supply for sensitive electronic components where the power source is close to the required output voltage, such as in battery-powered devices, where maximizing battery life is important.
