Norgren have a vast portfolio of products supported by decades of experience in designing motion control and fluid technology. Their products are tested and manufactured to meet high quality standards so that you can find high performance, dependable components for your compressed air system.

What are Pneumatic Rodless Cylinders and how do they work?

Pneumatic rodless cylinders, also called 'rodless slides' or 'cylinder slides', are a type of cylinder used in pneumatic systems. Cylinders use compressed air or gas to produce a motive force which moves a piston. With rodless cylinders the pistons are contained in the actuator tube and move up and down, creating linear movements. The load is attached to the piston and moves with it. These devices are often used in industrial processing applications which require repetitive movement, such as packaging, cutting, and assembly.

Rodless Cylinders have various advantages such as: there is no risk of the rod bending or buckling, the same force is used in both directions, they are perfect for applications with limited space due to having a smaller footprint for the same stroke length, and they are able to support high loads better.

Norgren's offer includes the Lintra Plus series which has a unique and lightweight construction, yet still offers high load capacity due to its improved piston design. Universal mounting grooves enable simple and positive integration into machinery for ease-of-installation. The embedded wear ring offers extra support and increases load carrying capacity. The Lintra Plus rodless cylinders also feature excellent dust protection due to their wiper seal design, ensuring a longer service life.

The M/146000 models are ideal for light to medium loads and offer internal guiding. These units feature a closer mechanism which limits friction, providing smoother movement.
