Gear Pullers
Gear pullers are tools that have been specifically designed to assist in the removal of gears from shafts. As there are so many applications that fall under this category, it is no wonder that there are different styles of gear pullers, however they all have a threaded rod to press against and apply pressure to the gears shaft until it becomes loose.
Available in either two-jaw or three-jaw designs, gear pullers allow technicians to work on machine components without the need for hammering, prying or heating, therefore minimising dangerous situations and components damage. Two-jaw gear pullers are best for small gears in very tight quarters, whereas three-jaw gear pullers are better equipped for applying even pressure around the gear. Three-jaw gear pullers can be used when removing a very tight small gear but are best used against larger gears that are easily accessible.
