RS PRO Lead-Free Soldering Wire, 100gr, Ø 0.7mm

Introducing the RS PRO Soldering Wire, ideal for soft soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), power components and electromechanical parts. This lead-free soldering wire is comprised of 99.3% tin and 0.7% copper mix, with a 2.2% flux core which flows well and heats evenly, making this solder easy to use. This RS PRO soldering wire is an ideal wire for fine soldering applications, where a neat and strong solder join is required.

Features and Benefits:

  • This RS PRO lead-free soldering wire allows for easy and quick soldering, building strong solder connections

  • Highly reliable wire composition of Sn99.3, Cu0.7 and 2.2% Flux core

  • Good thermal and electrical conductivity

  • Minimal spatter and smoke while in use

  • Lead-free and environmentally friendly

  • Complies with all lead-free legislative requirements

  • Ideal for all general-purpose lead-free electronics assembly and re-work applications

  • Supplied in a 100g reel which is convenient to organise and store

Soldering Wire is the material used to build a soldering connection by using the heated tip of a soldering iron to melt the wire. The wires are available in many different compositions, dependant on the application they are being used for. More commonly, lead-free solder wires are used as they are better for the environment, but also less harmful for those working with them, as they give off less spatter, smell and toxic fumes, which can be harmful when exposed to them over longer periods of time. Solder wire is most commonly used by:

  • DIY enthusiasts

  • Plumbers

  • Electricians

  • Vehicle technicians

Soldering is often used for:
  • General wiring applications

  • Electrical repair work at home, in factories or for vehicles

Standards and Certifications:

  • EN ISO 9453:2006

RS PRO is our own brand range and brings you a wide range of high-quality, great value products offering you more choice. Trusted by engineers all over the world, every part of every RS PRO product has been rigorously tested against demanding industry standards; they’re only given the RS PRO seal of approval if we’re confident of their exceptional quality, which means you can be confident too.

Lead-free solder has a higher melting temperature which may require a higher temperature tip or rheostat, depending on your iron
