RS PRO Inductive Proximity Sensor, Temperature Range -30°C up to +85°C

Looking for a robust, reliable, non-contact Sensor that provides flexibility comparing to Switches?

Today, we are proudly introducing our own branded RS PRO Metal Proximity Sensor with detection of up to 40 mm. The sensing capabilities are making these magnetic proximity sensors ideal distance devices that can be used to monitor components position within hydraulic machines or supporting forklift trucks during their operation.

The ability to detect metals, including aluminium, copper, brass or iron without contact, increase the lifespan of the Sensor significantly and they do not cause abrasion or damage to the object.
Our extensive range of Inductive Sensors has been rigorously tested by our engineers, offering you high-performance ratio with a wide sensing range while keeping your budget under control.

Features and Benefits

  • Our inductive Sensor has a fixed terminal base for quick sensor replacement

  • The connection is via a terminal compartment

  • The Inductive compact-size unit sense all metals at the same distance with no reduction factor

  • The IP67 rating protects against solid objects like dust or sand with the ability to function for approximately 30 minutes underwater as long it does not exceed 1 m of water

  • These Proximity Sensors provide magnetic field high switching frequency

These Proximity Sensors are commonly used for the following magnetic output applications:

  • Forklift Truck

  • Food industry

  • Beverage industry

  • Robotics

  • Packing and materials handling

  • For monitoring components positions within hydraulic machines

Frequently asked questions

How Inductive Sensors work?

Inductive sensors contain a coil and an oscillator that create an electromagnetic field close to the sensing surface. When metal enters this field, a change occurs in the oscillating amplitude. This, in turn, changes the sensor output, showing the user and/or corresponding equipment that metal has been sensed.

The operating distance varies between sensors and can be affected by the target, the shape of what is being detected and what environment or material you are using the sensor in. These are all things to bear in mind when choosing the right sensor for your application.

RS PRO is our family brand to go-to and brings you a wide range for high-quality and high-value products to support your project. Trusted by engineers all over the world, every part of every RS PRO product is always rigorously tested against demanding industry standards. We are only giving the RS PRO seal of approval if we are confident of their exceptional quality, which means you can be convinced too.
