Raspberry Pi 2 B SBC

The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B computer board is the 2nd generation of board from Raspberry Pi. It follows on from the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+.

What is a Raspberry Pi?

A Raspberry Pi is a compact computer board which offers endless opportunities. Simply plug in your TV, keyboard, mouse and power supply, and you are ready to go. There is a whole family of Raspberry Pi’s available to you, each providing various functionalities. There are also add-on boards available to enable other uses, such as camera and LCD display modules.
The great thing about Raspberry Pi is that it is suitable for almost all age groups. Whether it’s introducing programming to children, or used by engineers to make complex computer-controlled systems, anyone can use one.

Pi 1 Model B+ vs. Pi 2 Model B

The main change is the Broadcom System on Chip (SoC) upgrade from BCM2835 to the BCM2836. The CPU has also gone from ARM11 to ARM Cortex-A7. A major change is the increased processor speed from 700MHz to 900MHz.
The on-board functionalities and connectors remain the same as the previous model, however the performance has been very much improved.

What’s on-board?

Best board in the world!
This amazing new edition to the Raspberry Pi family is one packed little beast! I had to get this quad core 1gb version to use as a media centre. I installed Open Source Media Centre (OSMC) onto a 2gb Kingston SD card after a no name card failed to boot. I plugged in a USB keyboard but soon found that the Yatse app is an excellent way to control the Pi. I plan to add an infrared remote also and will definitely be buying another Pi 2 soon. Comes highly recommended :)
