pi-top Modular Laptop v2

The pi-top modular laptop v2 provides makers, educators and inventors a platform to learn and develop coding skills that also operates as a fully functioning laptop. The modular design utilises the Raspberry Pi (not included – available separately as RS part 896-8660) to provide the computing power.

Within the laptop case a magnetic rail provides a simple method to augment the pi-top with a range of add-ons, such as speakers and prototyping boards. Easy access to an installed Raspberry Pi and other internals is provided by an innovative sliding keyboard and trackpad.

Included with the pi-top is an 8GB micro SD card pre-loaded with the latest pi-top operating system and an inventor's kit with 20 projects to get you started.

Inventor's Kit

Included with the pi-top laptop is an inventor's kit featuring 20+ projects to help you begin experimenting with coding and electronics. There are 3 inventor journeys to follow; Smart Robot, Music Maker and Space Race. Included in the kit are the parts needed to build the projects:

- Pi-top PROTO+ prototyping board
- LED lights
- Ultrasonic range sensor
- Buzzer
- Noise sensing microphone
- Various cables, wires, resistors, buttons and sensors
- Project booklet

To bring the parts together, pi-top provide an 8GB micro SD card pre-loaded with the Polaris operating system and a suite of apps:
