KNIPEX 97 51 10 crimp tool

High quality Knipex crimping tool for modular plugs. This handheld crimp tool is designed for cutting and stripping unshielded ribbon telephone cables. For crimping RJ 11/12 (6 poles) 9.65mm and RJ 45 (8 poles) 11.68mm modular plugs and exact crimping process can take place due to parallel crimping. This crimping tool also automatically adjusts to the size of the bootlace ferrule to make sure accurate work is performed with each crimp. This feature allows the user not to spend time measuring the force when crimping because the crimping tool integral lock with release mechanism ensures the right amount of pressure automatically reaches the bootlace ferrule. These crimping pliers have multi-component grip handles making it more comfortable reducing fatigue.

Features and Benefits
• Cutting and stripping unshielded ribbon telephone cables
• Crimping 6 and 8 poles modular plugs
• Exact crimping process due to parallel crimping
• Repetitive, high crimping quality due to integral lock (self-releasing mechanism)
• length cutter and stripping knife for ribbon cables 6 and 12 mm length
• Chrome vanadium electric steel in special quality, oil-hardened

Typical Applications
Crimping tools can be used for a variety of applications:-
• Maintenance & repair
• Electrical Installations
• Cable assemblies

How to maintain the product?
• To maintain a good function and long life: Axles and other movable parts should be regularly lubricated.
• Lubrication* is recommended at least every 10,000 cycles whenever tool is exposed to dirt or other contaminants.
• Adjustment of the crimping die nests should also be checked. Readjustment of the pressure adjustment axle is necessary when the pre-load of the tool decreases significantly

*Use a light mineral-free oilv

The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp
When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between the conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage
