CY4501 CCG1 Development Kit, Cypress Semiconductor

The CY4501 CCG1 Development Kit is based on the CCG1 USB Type-C Port Controller family (CYPD11xx) from Cypress. The kit is intended for the development of USB host and client systems that house a Type-C connector, as well as for EMCA cables. For USB Power Delivery (PD), the CCG1 host and client boards available in this kit can be configured as a Downstream Facing Port (DFP), an Upstream Facing Port (UFP), or a Dual Role Port (DRP).

The CCG1 Host Board is used to emulate a USB Type-C port that would be present on a USB host, such as a tablet or a notebook
The CCG1 Client Board is used to emulate a USB Type-C port that would be present on a USB peripheral device, such as a monitor or a docking station
The CCG1 EMCA Board is used to emulate a smart cable with an embedded Type-C controller at both ends

USB is a cable bus supporting data exchange between a host computer and a wide range of simultaneously accessible peripherals. There is a differential signal data interface for transmit and receive communication path. The bus includes power at 5 Volts.
