Monitoring energy usage with efergy helps you save

The first step in saving energy is to understand where your energy usage hotspots are and the real cost of the energy used by equipment within your business or home. Efergy helps you do this by monitoring the energy over a period of days, weeks and months. Once setup with the unit price charged by your electricity supplier it gives a total cost of energy & energy usage.

Easy to connect

The wireless connectivity is central to the simplicity of efergy. Each efergy kit comes with a current transformer that can be clipped around any live cable and has a maximum current range of 95A (single phase - 110 to 400Vac). This plugs into the sender that is battery powered and sits inside you meter box or distribution cabinet. Current usage information is then transmitted to the display up to 70m away using wireless technology.

The efergy records the usage in kWh and can display the true cost of the energy usage once the price per unit charged by your supplier has been entered.

See the video showing how the efergy is installed.

Memory function

Efergy records how much you are spending by totalling each day, week and month, so you can really get to grips with the cost of your equipment energy usage, and start to plan a reduction strategy over a sustained period of time.

Both the instant information mode, and memory mode can display power usage (kWh), Electricity costs, and the estimated carbon footprint.

Start making savings today

Your objective should be to reduce your 'base level' electricity consumption, which is the amount you are using when you machines or office is not operating. This is often energy that is used overnight or during weekends. Also understanding which pieces of equipment use the most energy will help you target you energy reduction. The efergy may reveal some startling information about running costs of your business from basic appliances, lighting, machines, pumps and all those other items like PCs, projectors and equipment running from DC mains adaptors.

Its worth noting that poorly maintained equipment can use far more energy than their stated energy rating, and old equipment will not be as energy efficient as a newer equivalent.
