Videotape is a magnetic tape used for storing video. This is stored in either analog or digital signal. You can use videotape in both video tape recorders (VTRs) or more commonly video cassette recorders and camcorders. Video signals have a very high bandwidth and stationary heads would need really high tape speed, in many cases, helican-scan video head rotates against the moving tape to record the data in two dimensions. The tape could be a linear technique of storing info and so imposes delays to access a little of tape thats not already beneath the heads.
