What is a Threaded Insert?
A threaded insert is a cylindrical tube-shaped piece of metal with an internal thread and have several alternative names such as Screw Thread Inserts, Insert Nut fixings and Bolt Threads.
Pramet Threaded inserts are designed to be placed into existing holes to provide a threaded receptacle so that screws, bolts or other fixings can be installed into walls or other materials like metal, wood, or plastic. Threaded inserts with an external thread are also used to strengthen existing threads or to repair damaged threads usually in metalwork.

Are Threaded Inserts Industrial Fasteners?
Inserts allow for further insertion of screws and bolts which makes them a must-have in toolboxes for builders, carpenters, manufacturers, and engineers, not just for larger industrial projects! They are often used in:
- Milling
- Ramping
- Repairing holes
- Extending the working life of a drilled hole by minimising wear and tear. They are used when the material is either too strong, too thing or too weak for direct insertion of screws and bolts.
Check your sizes.
Whether inserted into wood or metal, a threaded insert needs to match the diameter and threading of the screw or bolt that it will host.
