Push Plates & Kick Plates

A push or kick plate is a protection plate fixed to a wooden door. Typically rectangular in shape and made from a variety of metals, push plates are primarily used on doors that automatically close or doors that have a handle on the one side.What does it do?A push plate is a piece of door hardware designed to protect wooden doors that have no handle. Push plates are fixed to the face of the door panel where opening wear is most likely to occur. Plates can be mounted onto single or double swing doors to suit a variety of applications. Kick plates, similar to push plates and used to protect a door from excessive use. Unlike push plates, kick plates are typically larger, fitted across the bottom of a door at full width to protect against shoes and other low level object that may push against the door to open it, such as trolleys. ApplicationsPush and kick plates can be used on a variety of doors such as automatically closing doors and single or double swinging doors as well as being used on emergency exit doors.
