5000K LEDs are daylight white LEDs which have a bluish white light output which is suitable for commercial lighting, headlights and stadium lighting. They are not suitable for the home or office environment. 5000K LEDs have a very bright white appearance which is often popular in retail environments to attract customers and make products easy to view.
The ‘K' in 5000K stands for ‘Kelvin'. Kelvin is the Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) which essentially describes the colour of the light output of the LED. The lower the number, the ‘warmer' the colour and the higher the number, the ‘cooler' the colour. 5000K sits towards the higher end of the CCT range and has a daylight white appearance.
