Fluke 568EX Infrared Thermometer, -40°C Min, ±1 % Accuracy, °C and °F Measurements

Designed for dangerous and hazardous settings, this laser thermometer is safe for use in Class I, DIV 1, DIV 2 or Zone 1 and 2 environments. Fluke's 568 Ex is non-contact, therefore ideal for most Ex rated areas and meets intrinsically safe certifications in the above classes from recognised safety agencies.

Soft key menu features and a straight forward user interface make complex testing and measurement easy. Navigation is made simple and emissivity can be adjusted, save data or turn alarms on and off by just a few pushes of a button. Measure from a greater distance with the 50:1 distance to spot ratio on a wide variety of surfaces, additionally using the built in material table. This thermometer also features two levels of brightness on the large backlit display, making it usable even in those darker environments.

IR thermometers are not harmful, they do not emit radiation, only measure it like a digital camera.

The majority of IR thermometers have a measurement error specification, which shows their best accuracy. The surface being measured can also affect accuracy. Reflective objects result in lower measurements than the actual temperature, whilst non-reflective surfaces give higher measurement. The emissivity of a surface is how effective it is at emitting energy as thermal radiation, as such some IR thermometers have adjustable emissivity settings.
Distance to spot ratio is also essential in providing accurate temperature measurements, if an infrared thermometer is too close to its target area, heat can build up in the device. This can give false readings or damage the temperature sensors, therefore it is essential to always follow a manufacturers guidelines.
