Overview

Long Distance Reflective Switch

This sensor uses an Infrared LED and Photologic® sensor in a reflective switch configuration with an opaque housing to reduce the sensor’s ambient
light sensitivity. A window, clear to near infrared wavelengths, protects the emitter and sensor allowing operation in a dusty environment.
While an object is in the reflective path of the device, the output NPN transistor is “ON” providing a “low” voltage output when connected to appropriate value pull-up resistor. When the Infrared light from the LED is not reflected back to the sensor, the output transistor turns “OFF,” minimizing the IC(ON) current, providing a “High” output.
