Raspberry Pi High Definition (HD) Pi NoIR Camera Board
The Pi NoIR HD Camera Board connects to any Raspberry Pi or Compute Module allowing you to create HD video and still photography. Great for photography and video in the dark, you will need to purchase an infra-red filter seperately as the Pi NoIR does not have an infra-red filter.

Connecting the Pi NoIR to your Pi
The 15 cm ribbon cable attached to the Pi NoIR slots into your Pi Camera Serial Interface port (CSI). Easy.
Once connected, you can access the camera board via the Multi-Media Abstraction Layer (MMAL), the Video for Linux (V4L) APIs or a library such as Picamera Python (amongst many others that you can find online).
Via Raspbian there are 3 applications that you can use to take your photos or videos - Raspistill and Raspistillyuv for photography and Raspivid for videos.
