Touch keys can be created through many flat or curved non-conducting panel materials such as glass, marble, rubber, wood, plastic etc, allowing user interface designs that are difficult to achieve with traditional mechanical switches

Capacitive Touch Sensing
The Omron Touch Sensor switch family is based on capacitive measurement principle and is a durable replacement to any type of tactile switch. Designers are free to choose from a wide variety of non conducting materials to form the touch switches. Electrode size, shape and spacing can also be customised to suit many applications, including medical, human machine interfaces, industrial, keyboards, vending machines, automated door switches, home appliances etc.
