Arduino Micro Development Board

The Arduino Micro is the smallest board in the Arduino family at just 48 x 18 mm. It is based on the ATmega32U4 8-bit microcontroller (MCU). This compact board is ideal for integrating into projects and object. It’s also really straight-forward to put onto a breadboard for developing and prototyping.

The ATmega32U4 has USB communication built into it. When you connect it to a PC, the Arduino Micro will appear as a mouse or keyboard would.

What else is on-board?

ATmega32U4 Microcontroller
20 x digital I/O pins (7 can be used as PWM outputs)
12 x Analogue inputs
16 MHz crystal oscillator
1 x microUSB connector
1 x ICSP header
1 x reset button

Operating Voltage: 5V
FLASH memory: 32 KB
SRAM: 2.5 KB
EEPROM: 1KB
Dimensions: 48 x 18 mm

The Arduino Community

The Arduino Project Book is there to help but there is also a huge community surrounding Arduino. So, if you are ever stuck or require some guidance with your projects, the Arduino site is full of content to keep you going. Or, if you find you are stuck for ideas to tinker about with, there’s plenty of projects on the site to give you some inspiration: http://labs.arduino.org/

Arduino AVR Development Boards

We have a range of Arduino boards at RS that feature an AVR ATmega microcontroller at the core. Most of the boards feature the 32u4 microcontroller with the Mega boards featuring the ATmega 2560 and the Uno/Nano boards featuring the ATmega328 microcontroller. These Arduino boards are designed to be used with Arduino IDE programming software.
