From RS Pro an energy saving plug-in AC-DC power adapter with a compact and light-weight design for converting AC mains current into DC voltage for a wide range of DC applications. This AC adapter has a 2-pin Europlug style enclosure and is terminated with a DC cable with a 2.1 x 5.5 x 9.5 mm DC connector.

AC-DC adapters are also known as AC adaptors or AC-DC converters and are a type of external power supply. Some electrical appliances require power but lack the internal components to derive the required voltage and power from AC (alternating current) that is supplied by the mains.
