Chinese RoHS Labels
These labels are designed to help the producers of electric and electronic equipment to comply with the Chinese regulation with regard to the ban of the sale of electrical and electronic products containing specific toxic contaminants. Logo 1 has an 'e' inside a circle, comprising of two curved arrows facing opposite directions and is recommended to be green in colour. This is applicable to products not containing toxic substances; EU RoHS compliant products would carry this label. Logo 2 has a number that depicts the EPUP (Environmental Protection Use Period) of the product and is recommended to be orange in colour. This applies when the product contains toxic substances. For products bearing Logo 2 the producer would have to disclose details of the toxic substances, including whether the level of toxicity exceeds the level stipulated in the Standard on Requirements for Concentration Limits for Certain Hazardous Substances in Electronic Information Products (SJ/T 11363-2006) (the 'Concentration Limits Standard'). This would need to be labelled on the product or if unfeasible, in the manual accompanying the product.
