RoHS - Restriction of certain Hazardous Substances![]() Your environmental responsibility Here we aim to clarify some of the confusion around RoHS and give you information to help you understand the significance of the Directive. RoHS (Restriction of certain Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) are two European Directives which have introduced new environmental responsibilities for manufacturers, importers, retailers and distributors of electronic and electrical equipment and components. RoHS bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment which contains more than the maximum agreed levels of certain chemicals.
